How big is PANDORA getting? From Tom Taylor NOW: Pandora opens a highly-visible sales office in downtown Minneapolis. It’s leasing a 5,000-square foot space in “the city’s most recognizable office tower, the IDS Center,” says the Star-Tribune. The paper also has the local color, about what started out as a “small local sales team” in the Twin Cities that’s continued to expand since planting its flag in 2012. Staff size is now about 20 folks. This is Pandora’s 37th local sales office, and it comes in a market that’s home to Best Buy and Target – major national advertisers which already buy spots on Pandora Internet radio. Sources tell this NOW Newsletter that of all the ad-supported Internet music/radio services, Pandora is the one that’s most keenly focused on taking revenue from AM/FM radio.
